What an awesome post!! It kind of reminds me of the project of working on my blog. Sometimes I find things that seem to be "in the scope" of what my blogs is about, but I wonder if I would just be blogging about them for the sake of having another blog post, instead of because I really wanted to share them with the world.

I think the ultimate test of whether something new is really worth writing about is whether or not I think about it outside of the context of my blog-- whether it's something so exciting that I want to tell my friends just to share the awesome new information!!

It's cool to hear that you have a similar process with your dissertation--trusting the passion that is awakened when you find something truly new and exciting, even if it is only a tender little nugget/bitlet.
