Once we get to the signing contracts stage, it is definitely worth our while to do some research. I wonder if it is also possible to find when each professor was hired and at what level.

I know there are also websites out there that offer salary information about different professions.

So even if it’s tactless to *ask* colleagues what they make, one could find out. I’m not sure how, but I’m sure one can.
